Frequently Asked Questions:
“Why do I need a website ?”
Now, more than ever, our
society is becoming more computer literate, more users are surfing the
web and enjoy doing their business on-line. A business website is an
small investment that can help you put your own company stamp on the
world-wide-web. Today, more people go to the internet to find
businesses and services rather than the phone book. Along with your
contact information, a website can be home to a wealth of knowledge you
can get across to a potential customer without ever meeting the
individual. A great user experience will delight your visitor into
returning to your website and continue to use your business or service.
"Website. Web Hosting. World Wide
Web. What does it all mean?"
Picture for a moment the largest parking
lot or parking garage you have ever seen, millions and millions of
automobiles and parking spots. That parking lot or garage, for this
example will be the World Wide Web. Full of parking spaces, both empty
and full, and cars, different sizes, makes and models. You do not want
to continue to ride public transportation to get around, you want your
very own car to drive around and show off, because, well basically, the
World Wide Web is the information high way. A new website is like your
new automobile pulling into the large parking lot. Whether your drive a
fancy, tricked out Cadillac Escalade or a run of the mill Chevy Cobalt,
you need to find a parking spot, for this example, your domain or
website name. Imagine, the car you drive is your website. The parking
spot you occupy is your space on the World Wide Web.
Dependent upon your budget you can shell
out for a fancy car we call your website in this parking lot we call the
World Wide Web with all the bells and whistles (Cadillac) or you can
begin with the basics and stay simple (Cobalt). It’s all up to your
taste and more importantly, your budget.
Whatever you choose as
your new website, this vehicle needs a parking space in the World Wide
Web. Continuing to hold this space or spot will be your web hosting
charge for your website. The monthly web hosting fee is similar to
a monthly parking pass you would pay for the parking space in the lot.
